New Hampshire hospital uses Microsoft tech to improve collaboration

Microsoft Chief Nursing Strategist Molly K. McCarthy recently visited Dartmouth’s Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where she interviewed the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer, Gay Landstrom, and her health transformation team.

They discussed the opportunities and challenges around technology and healthcare, specifically addressing care team collaboration and communication.

In the interview, Landstrom explained how her team use Lumia phones enabled with Skype for Business to coordinate patient care. Her team also uses Microsoft Bands paired with the phones to discretely view push notifications and prioritize incoming information. These pairings allow health care providers to better collaborate while still focusing on face-to-face interactions with patients.
